bean a while....

so i've been busy and haven't had the chance to update this as much as i've wanted to...this is what happens when you're at work teaching children and don't have the luxury of sitting in front of a computer and doing not much other than download music, surf the web and add posts to your blogs...i wish i could do that...hehe...no, i'm sure all of you out there are working really hard...


I'm going to go back to Cambodia for a moment here because i have a few more photos and memories i'd like to share...
So this is Ta Prohm, apparently the site of Tomb Raider the movie, but i haven't seen it so i can't validate that...on our last day in Cambodia, we left the hotel early to catch site of the one last temple we really wanted to see...it was yet another hot day, but more bearable than on previous days...we'd seen a couple of photos of the ruins and were intrigued at the twisting tree roots that looked like they were spilling down from the sky...it was often hard to figure out where the tree started, so intertwined with the buildings it was like the chicken or egg thing...i'd never before seen such amazing structures, both tree and building together...these trees are known as strangler figs and have left many of the temples in disrepair. there was evidence of some conservation but it looked more like a million piece impossible jigsaw, you know the ones where the picture is just of a pile of jellybeans where everything looks the same...it's a bit like that...although the temple itself was in serious damage, the awe of the place was governed by the trees...yes they are vicious and damaging, but seeing them so huge, standing next to something which was so complex looking, it was pretty amazing...
